Abby has discovered the dogs these past few weeks. She loves to watch Lily and Claire roll around and play. She is just fascinated.

Ella, Abby and I took the dogs to the vet this week. Claire went on Tuesday and Lily went on Wednesday. Claire’s visit was a little longer because they had to take her blood pressure and look at a lump she has on her chest (she didn’t think it was a fatty tumor so we will probably do a biopsy to figure out what it is). Ella was getting antsy and i told her it would be just a minute more we had to make sure Claire wasn’t getting sick to which she replied – “If Claire dies and goes to heaven we can get a new puppy ok.” Luckily I don’t think the vet tech who was in the room could really understand what Ella was saying. We had talked about animals getting sick, dying and going to heaven earlier this week in preparation for Mr. Fish’s demise who has not been looking too good.

Abby is 4 months old

Abby had her 4 month check up today. She is still chunky…

Weight: 17 lbs 7 oz, >97%
Height: 24.8 inches, 68%
Head: 65%

Abby is a little bit bigger than Ella was at this age (except for the head measurement, Ella definitely got daddy’s big head). Ella was usually 90% for weight and 50% for height.

Abby is still a smiley baby and she has started giggling on occasion. She has great head control and likes the exersaucer/jumperoo we got out last week. And she loves to grab onto toys and blankets now. Still working on the rolling over, but as the doctor said it’s hard to get 17 pounds rolled over. She is a great sleeper and usually sleeps 10-11 hours at night. And takes 2-3 naps a day for various lengths. We are still trying to figure out the timing and length of the naps, it is much harder with 2 kids to make sure she gets down in her crib for her naps at the right time. Abby has also started drooling with a vengeance this week too so maybe we will see some teeth start to peek out soon. Or she will just drool for months on end before getting any teeth like her big sister did. 🙂

Ella the fish

Ella had her last swimming class of the spring session this week. Daddy and Ella came to watch and took a video of her swimming all by herself. She had a pool noodle to help her float but mommy had strict orders to let go of her. Ella loved her swimming lessons these past few weeks. She was really disappointed they are not offered in the summer. She got to sing songs, learn how to get in the pool the safe way (sliding feet first on her belly), how to go underwater, and how to kick and reach your arms out. Next up is one on one classes without mommy or daddy in the pool.
