After many weeks of asking about birthday parties it was finally Ella’s party today. She had a great time playing with cousin Jack and friends Sasha, Emily and Evan. And she really loved opening presents. In fact she tried to open some of the gift bags a second time. The toys were oohed and ahhed over and the clothes were either thrown aside or left in the box/bag for mommy to open and show everyone. It was truly a horse/pony party for Ella. In addition the the wooden stable that mommy and daddy got her for her “horse-ys” she got several other My Little Pony and other horse items. Hopefully she will like horses for a while.
Aunt Julie and Uncle Eamon had their first baby this afternoon. We welcomed Rhory McGuinness into the world and got a lot of pictures of the little guy (although, at 8 lbs, 13 oz and 23 inches in length “little” is used quite loosely here).

Everyone is doing well, mom and dad looked tired of course, but everyone is happy and healthy.
I decided that I should probably think about getting out the infant car seat we ordered online and making sure everything looked ok. We sold Ella’s on craigslist because I really did not like the stroller/carseat combo we had for her and if we decided to have more kids I would just get a new one. 🙂
The buckle is different from the other carseats we have had so I am glad I took a look at it before we had to get Abby strapped in at the hospital. Jeremy even got the base installed in the Mazda this past weekend. Ella did her part too, she tested it out to make sure it would be safe for Abby.
Ella’s friend Sasha got her a piggy bank for her baptism. It’s very cute–it depicts Noah’s ark. Ella just loves it. Whenever she finds loose change laying around the house she asks if she can put it in her piggy bank. So, recently it’s gotten quite full.
Yesterday she found some more change and asked Sarah if she could put it in her bank. Upon trying to put it in, however, Sarah noticed that it was too full, and told Ella they could empty it out so she could put more in it and we could bring the change back for her to get something with.
Well, along with the myriads of quarters, dimes, nickles and pennies Sarah found some other interesting things, including a single earring that looked amazingly like one she’s been trying to find for a year and a half almost (a pair that I had bought her on one of our cruises), a little more change later and the matching set was reunited and rediscovered!
Evidently Ella has been finding anything that’ll fit in her bank and storing it in there…I told Sarah that posession is 9/10 of the law, and thus when Ella is old enough to get her ears pierced (age 26 or thereabouts) she’ll have to take posession of those earrings since she’s held them for so long. We’ll have to see what happens.
I had my 32 week prenatal appointment today. They also did another ultrasound to check out baby’s kidney’s since they were slightly enlarged at the 20 week ultrasound. The initial ultrasound report from today didn’t say anything about the kidneys but we will hear for sure at the next appointment when the doctor will have the final report. The doctor did say that it looked like we were having another big baby this time. His exact words were “generous sized”. Which is reinforcing my initial decision to do another c-section instead of trying for a VBAC. Picture from today’s ultrasound:
So my repeat c-section has been scheduled. I went to go get some hot water for tea at work this morning and when I got back to my office there was a message on my cell from the doctor’s office. So unless she decides to come earlier baby girl will be born on Wednesday March 3rd shortly after 9:30am.
